CleanForm 100 is a HR high strength low alloy (HSLA) steel sheet and plate product that has been cold reduced, resulting in a product with excellent toughness, formability, and weldability. The strength, forming and welding characteristics are the result of an optimum combination of microstructural hardening, grain size, inclusion shape control, and dimensional stability. The superior surface and flatness make CleanForm 100 a good alternative to a quenched and tempered product. Cost savings may be realized by using laser or plasma processes and by reducing or eliminating the need for operations such as shotblasting or priming. Typical applications for CleanForm 100 sheet and plate are cranes, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, rail cars, or any product where increased strength-to-weight ratio is an issue.
